Authored Tours

The Tours page manages saved, reusable walkthroughs. Authored tours are separate from question-driven dynamic guidance: their steps, text, triggers, and status are explicitly stored and reviewed before activation.

Creating a tour

  • Manual — create a draft and add the route, target element, action, title, and body for each step.
  • Visual authoring — start a signed authoring session, open the generated link in the host application, and select real elements in sequence.

The dashboard does not turn an assistant question into executable tour steps. LLM output never becomes a selector or business-action instruction.

Status and triggers

  • Draft — editable and not served to users.
  • Active — available to configured triggers and playTour(slug). Triggers include manual, page-load, first-visit, deep-link, element, and bounded state-based options. The exact fields depend on the selected trigger. A suggestion with a tourSlug launches that authored tour directly.

Choose a supported trigger and complete its required fields before activating the tour. Invalid tour configuration cannot start a tour; other valid tours remain available. Authored tours are configured separately from the dynamic Live guidance setting.

Step behavior

Each step identifies a route, scanner or authoring-derived selector, action, and tooltip copy. Highlight steps are passive. Click or input steps observe the user's real interaction; they do not invoke host handlers or insert values. Navigation between documents is supported by the authored-tour state machine and remains independent of dynamic navigation sessions.

Review low-confidence selectors, preview the complete tour, and test every route transition before activation. If a selector breaks after a product change, re-scan and re-author the affected step rather than adding Navieo-only instrumentation to the host application.

Visual authoring

There is no Skip. Passive steps use Previous/Next/Done; action steps require the user's real interaction. Stop is the explicit early exit. Completing a guide does not prove a business action succeeded.

Use the visual authoring entry point on the Tours page to create a short-lived signed session. The authoring module is loaded separately from the normal widget bundle. Only app administrators can create or end sessions, and an expired or already-consumed token fails closed.
